Tasting Notes
Layered, expansive, and finely structured, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with concentrated aromas of cassis, black cherry, vanilla bean and dried lavender, complemented by savory notes of sage and sweet tobacco. On the palate, the wine has immediate presence and weight. It coats the palate with rich layers of ripe black plum and dark chocolate from the new French oak. Firm, polished tannins lend substantial structure while maintaining a supple, velvety texture throughout. Enjoy now, or lay it down to age beautifully over the next 15 years.

Winemaking Notes:
The 2023 vintage made Steve and Jason’s vision a reality. After historic winter rains replenished the soils, the Willow Creek District experienced one of the coolest, longest growing seasons in over a decade. This slow, steady ripening yielded fruit with electric natural acidity and remarkably supple tannins, perfectly balancing immense power with refined elegance.
Our winemaker, Don Burns, utilized co-fermentation to ferment the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc together before aging it for 22 months in 90% new French oak. The final wine beautifully expresses the rocky, limestone soils of the G2 North vineyard, capturing a classic Old World feel with a vibrant backbone.
